“WA Youth Theatre Company is, under the guidance of James Berlyn, creating unique and profound works of theatre that connect story and place and people. These productions are so arresting because of the unadorned honesty and poignancy of the performances from the young actors in the company.”
– Iain Grandage, Perth Festival Artistic Director
Championing youth voice, agency and perspective, at WAYTCo we actively support and enable young people to tell their own stories through writing, making and staging their own theatre works.
Each year we stage 2-3 of our own productions, and get involved in a number of ‘copros’. If you would like to take part in a future production, you need to try out through our annual general auditions, held in March each year. If you want to pitch an idea for development, we recommend you first participate in one of our TPO programs (“training with performance outcome”), such as Write Now or Devisers Playground.
