General Audition are over!
In February each year, we hold General Auditions. This audition moment is not to be missed. It is the gateway to WAYTCo’s premier offerings: Main Productions, Ensembles and Strategic Initiatives. We are looking for performers, theatre makers, writers and people who just love theatre!
Who is eligible?
ALL young people are encouraged to apply, especially First Nations young people, young people of colour or who identify as CaLD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse), LGBTQIA+ youth and/or youth living with disability.
For Junior and Senior Ensemble programs, you must be aged 15-25 years at time of audition. Young people aged 11-14 are eligible to audition for our new Beginners Ensemble.
How does it work?
There are a number of different date and time options available. Dates for 2024 Annual General Auditions will be posted on this page later in the year.
General Auditions are held in the WAYTCo Studio (1st Floor, King Street Arts Centre).
Auditions are two hours long and are held in a welcoming workshop format. There will be some group activities followed by presentation of your monologue or story.
Please wear loose comfy clothes that are easy to move in.
What do I need to prepare?

Choose one you connect to. You can write your own monologue if you prefer, or simply tell us a story in 2 minutes (max).
What if I don’t get in?
Selection for ensembles and casting opportunities is not guaranteed. If you miss out, you can still join us for other programs, such as our WriteNOW program, and you are encouraged to enquire about Production and Technical Assistant roles, and Arts Management internships.
