This year, under the banner of ‘Invest In Us’, WAYTCo invited expressions of support from the WA professional and philanthropic community, as well as demonstrations of deeper commitment from its existing support base. At the start of the campaign, we set an ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000. Twelve months later, we are pleased to announce that we reached our target, raising $50,699 between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023. This includes $4K in-kind support/annum from business service companies, Edwards & Partners (accounting) and Kool Kreative (graphic design).
Funds raised during a sub-period of the campaign, from 15 October 2022 to 31 May 2023, were matched – to the maximum awarded value of $25,000 – through Creative Partnerships Australia’s PLUS 1 Program.
The total amount raised, including cash, in-kind and matched support was $75,699.
As WAYTCo member and touring performer, Adam Kelly, likes to say “Awesome Sauce!!”
What will WAYTCo do with the funds?
Cash raised during the campaign will be used to supplement the budgets of 2023-24 programs, performances and new initiatives, all of which show attention to access and excellence. Specifically, funds will go to:
- 2023 Inter/national Tour of ARCO;
- 2023-24 training opportunities for emerging artists who self-identify with disability/chronic illness/neurodiversity;
- 2024 Main Production Development;
- 2024 inaugural ‘Summerplay’, non-binary Shakespeare.

“I get so much enjoyment from seeing young, creative people being actively engaged in the craft of communication through live theatre. I see their self confidence and pride grow and develop, no matter what part they play in bringing a story to life, and I feel better for being part of helping to make it happen.”
