Job Opportunity: General Manager

WAYTCo is seeking a highly motivated General Manager (GM) to lead the organisation’s operations. The GM will manage day-to-day activities, focusing on compliance, financial oversight, human resource (HR), and administration. You will work closely with the Artistic Director to support WAYTCo’s artistic and strategic goals, and will handle grant writing, fundraising, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Company Management: Oversee daily operations, compliance, HR, and business development.
  • Compliance & Board Servicing: Ensure adherence to regulations, support board activities, and manage strategic planning.
  • Human Resources: Handle Work Health Safety (WHS), equal opportunity, payroll, and staff development.
  • Business & Development: Collaborate on business plans, financial advice, funding applications, and sponsorship.
  • Budgeting & Financial Management: Manage finances, including budgeting, audits, and reporting.
  • Contract Management: Oversee and negotiate third-party contracts.
  • Marketing & Membership Management: Oversee marketing campaigns and our youth focused membership.
  • Office Management: Ensure efficient operations and maintenance of the office environment, ensuring a healthy and positive culture for all employees.

Key Competencies:

  • Experienced in working with boards and good governance practices.
  • Knowledgeable in HR best practices and contract negotiations.
  • Proficient in financial management, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Well-organised with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in digital resources and data security.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in arts management or relevant field.
  • Proven project management skills and financial acumen.
  • Experience in the arts sector and familiarity with regulatory environments.
  • Current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance.

Desirable:

  • Experience in producing arts events or general management in the arts sector.
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit regulatory environment and WHS Act.

Commencement:

Desirable commencement from October 11th 2024, however notice periods will be considered.
