Resignation of General Manager, Leah Maund.
Perth, WA – 6 September – The Western Australian Youth Theatre Company (WAYTCo) today announces the resignation of its General Manager, Leah Maund, effective 27 September 2024. After a distinguished tenure with WAYTCo, Leah has decided to step down to pursue new opportunities and challenges.
Leah Maund has been an integral part of the WAYTCo team since 2021, bringing her passion for youth arts and commitment to sound arts management. Under her leadership, WAYTCo has seen significant growth, expanded its reach, and strengthened its reputation as a leading institution for young theatre practitioners in the region.
Leah’s tenure has been marked by several key achievements. She developed the company’s Strategic & Business Plan 2023-27, setting the course for future success. Leah secured multiple ongoing pro bono and sponsor relationships, vital in supporting the company’s initiatives. Leah produced WAYTCo’s first inter/national tour (ARCO, 2023), a milestone that brought the company’s work to a broader audience. Additionally, she secured funding for and oversaw the successful completion of the complex Juvenile Justice Project, a significant initiative that underscored WAYTCo’s commitment to social impact through the arts.

The WAYTCo Board will commence the search for a new General Manager immediately. The Company remains committed to its mission of nurturing the next generation of theatre artists and providing them with the skills, experiences, and opportunities to thrive in the performing arts industry.
